Silphium, commonly known as rosinweed, is a robust genus of long-lived North American native perennials celebrated for its bold, sunflower-like blooms and exceptional ecological value. These deep-rooted prairie and woodland edge plants typically feature coarse, textured foliage and an upright, clumping growth habit. From mid-summer into fall, they produce abundant, cheerful yellow, daisy-like composite flowers that are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
