The plants historically known in the horticultural trade as Terminalis (botanically Cordyline fruticosa, widely called Hawaiian Ti or Ti Plant) are celebrated for their spectacular, brightly colored foliage that brings a bold tropical feel to any setting. Growing as upright, cane-like evergreen shrubs, these plants typically reach 3 to 6 feet tall in containers, and slightly taller in ideal frost-free landscapes. Their large, lance-shaped leaves emerge in a stunning array of colors, ranging from deep glossy greens and creamy variegations to vibrant pinks, striking burgundies, and fiery reds. While they may occasionally produce clusters of small, pale pink to white star-shaped flowers followed by tiny berries, they are cultivated almost entirely for their dramatic leaves.
